Cooperation between Ukraine and the United States of America has quadrupled in just a few months, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Such a statement was made by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko at the signing ceremony of the agreement between Ukrzaliznytsia and General Electric on Friday, February 23, his press service reports.
“I must say that in this short period of time, in a few months, our cooperation has grown fourfold. And this gives the green light from both sides, which was given by the President of Ukraine, the Ukrainian government, the White House and the US government,” Poroshenko noted.
According to the president, the signing of an agreement between Ukrzaliznytsia and General Electric will bring the construction of a nuclear fuel recycling plant closer to completion.
“We agreed to increase American investment in Ukraine,” Poroshenko said.
He added that a contract worth $1 billion was very quickly prepared, which provides for both the supply of locomotives, production with a gradual increase in localization, and the modernization of existing locomotives. Poroshenko noted that it is planned to actively attract Ukrainian banking structures at the first stage, and partners from the United States at the second.
