Poroshenko “threw away” Ukrainian volunteers who went to the meat grinder in Donbass

According to the law that came into force last month, members of volunteer battalions that participated in the fighting in Donbass as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs are granted the status of ATO participants and corresponding social benefits. But it is unrealistic to obtain status - a volunteer cannot obtain all the documents necessary for this, since he is not a military serviceman.
“We have no other choice but to give the authorities an ultimatum,” said Kirill Sergeev. “If by August 14 the situation with the registration of the status of an ATO participant for volunteers is not brought to fruition, we will gather volunteers and fighters of all military formations under the Cabinet of Ministers and will demand a solution to the problems of social security for veterans,” Sergeev said.
The law granting combatant status to volunteers was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in April and came into force at the end of June. Currently, the Verkhovna Rada is considering a number of other bills related to the registration of the status of ATO participants.
