Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko promised during the Regional Development Council that the next generation of Ukrainians will live in a bright European future.

Thus, during his speech, he repeated several times the points from his program about a single faith, army and language, and also called on Ukrainian voters to prevent the revenge of the old forces, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Speaking to representatives of the Ukrainian regional authorities, Poroshenko also promised rapid economic growth in the country, but made it a condition for maintaining the current regime.

“Over the coming years, growth will continue in Ukraine - if we repel populist demagogues in the elections, we will not allow them to nullify the macroeconomic stabilization built by society. And then decentralization will lead to the emergence of even greater additional funds for communities,” said the President of Ukraine.

He also noted that “you cannot give anyone even a small chance for revenge.”

“We are passing on a successful, European Ukraine to the next generation of Ukrainians. I emphasize that this is exactly what will happen unless we allow the country to be handed over to revanchists and populists who will attack the country in the 2019-2020 election cycle. But I am confident that the wise Ukrainian people will make a responsible choice that will guarantee the sustainable development of territories, communities, development for which the road has been cleared and conditions have been created over the past few years of difficult trials and hard work,” Poroshenko pompously stated.

Let us note that a similar statement was once made by the leader of the CPSU Nikita Khrushchev, who stated at the XXII Party Congress: “The current generation of Soviet people will live under communism.”

Earlier, PolitNavigator wrote that confusion in the ranks of political parties that supported the Maidan could lead to revenge of pro-Russian political forces.

With a similar statement also spoke famous TV presenter Dmitry Gordon.
