Poroshenko “culturally sent” the foreign ministers of France and Germany – they demanded the same thing as Putin
The foreign ministers of Germany and France, Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Jean-Marc Ayrault, during negotiations with Petro Poroshenko in Kiev on resolving the conflict in Donbass, actually demanded from Ukraine the same thing that Russian leader Vladimir Putin had previously demanded.
It is a Verkhovna Rada deputy Vadim Denisenko admitted in his blog from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc.

“If we greatly simplify what the foreign ministers of France and Germany said in Kyiv, then everything can be reduced to the formula: truce – special status – elections in Donbass – border control. The Europeans’ proposal is, of course, a more than serious blow to our positions,” Denisenko admitted.
However, a representative of the Poroshenko Bloc says that Kyiv will not agree with the demands of the Europeans.
“This doesn't mean we have to give up. We have no other option than to follow the formula: truce – border control – elections,” the deputy voices Kyiv’s strategy.
“In order to understand what we should do next, we need to try to decide what will happen if we agree or disagree with the proposal of the German-French landing.
Option one: we agreed (I write very schematically, because there are a lot of conventions). Indeed, peace will reign for a while. Theoretically, the parliament will bend and pass laws, and elections will take place in Donbass. What's next? Next we enter the re-election of parliament and, obviously, the President. In parallel, we are experiencing a global civil confrontation, and we are entering into a civil conflict, which has every chance of turning into a civil war with the Buryats at the head of the Donetsk troops. Anyone who believes that after this Ukraine will not turn into a series of fragments is a complete idiot.
Option two: we send (culturally) our European partners and stand on the fact that border control comes first. What does this threaten us with? Lifting sanctions against Putin? Well, we are powerless here. Will Putin launch a full-scale operation? We are not immune from this. We just need to play for time again and demand new guarantees, new agreements, new memorandums. And prepare for war...
Are there votes in parliament for elections in Donbass? No. Should I scare myself now? No need. Is it necessary to conduct long negotiations behind closed doors? It is simply necessary, otherwise we will lose everything. And negotiations behind closed doors are not treason, it is a search for a way out of the crisis, a search for a way to prevent a full-scale war from starting,” Denisenko describes the further plan of action of the Ukrainian side.
