Poroshenko bought Volcker's appointment
The appointment of Kurt Volker as the representative of the US State Department for Ukraine was pushed through by the lobbying company BGR, whose services were actively used by President Petro Poroshenko.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Andrei Artemenko stated this on the air of the Ukrainian TV channel ZIK.
“Poroshenko’s victory was the appointment of Mr. Kurt Volcker as a special representative. Who is Kurt Volker? Advisor to the BGR company, to which offshore companies owned by Poroshenko transferred very large sums. Isn’t this corruption at the highest level?” Artemenko said.
At the same time, he believes that BGR organized, with Poroshenko’s money, a meeting with Trump between Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin, and not the Ukrainian president himself, as was claimed in the media. The price of the service was 400 thousand dollars, which were transferred from the accounts of an offshore company located in Panama.
“The meeting with Poroshenko took place a month later and was an internal compensation for the Trump administration after the meeting of the American president with Lavrov. Trump could not invite Poroshenko on an official visit. This is not an insult for the election campaign. This is a deep knowledge of what Poroshenko is and what kind of corrupt government exists in Ukraine. Trump’s phrase at the G8 confirms this,” Artemenko said.
