Poroshenko legalized mass killings in Odessa
The authorities’ sanctioning of the march announced by Ukrainian nationalists on the anniversary of the mass burning of Odessa residents in the House of Trade Unions means that the regime of Petro Poroshenko has legalized political murders committed by right-wing radicals.
Political scientist Denis Denisov told PolitNavigator about this.
“This, as we understand, is the position of the state of Ukraine regarding the tragedy that happened four years ago. At the moment, they want to interpret the death of almost fifty civilians in Odessa as some kind of “act of defense against aggression from the Russian Federation.” This, of course, is a flagrant crime against historical truth, this is a de facto recognition of the legitimacy of the lawlessness and murders that have been occurring in Ukraine over the past four years. First of all, on the part of neo-Nazi, nationalist, essentially punitive organizations, which were previously called “volunteer battalions” and are now subordinate to a number of law enforcement agencies.
Naturally, for any more or less civilized country, such events are not only unacceptable, but their consequences should long ago be criminal cases, which should be opened upon even participation in such events. Not to mention the fact that the international community has noted more than once in its reports that the Ukrainian authorities are doing everything possible to ensure that this tragedy is not adequately investigated and the perpetrators are brought to justice,” Denisov said.
