The corresponding statement was made by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in an interview with Ukrainian television channels, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
“We cannot hold elections in the occupied territories (local elections on October 25 - ed.),” Poroshenko emphasized.
Poroshenko added: “We cannot ensure the activities of the Ukrainian media, the activities of Ukrainian parties, the safety of people, the protection of the expression of will - which means that it will be in the hands of the parliament to announce, as soon as such an opportunity arises, elections in those areas where they cannot yet be held.”
