Poroshenko is starving the shipbuilders of Nikolaev so that the cruiser “Ukraine” does not go to Russia
The debt of Ukroboronprom to the Mykolaiv State Shipbuilding Plant (formerly the plant named after 61 communards) amounted to more than UAH 115 million. The chairman of the plant’s trade union committee, Nikolai Golovchenko, spoke about this on air on the Nikolaev TV channel.

“Unfortunately, we entered the new year with even greater debts. The debt to dismissed employees amounts to UAH 65 million. Since November 2014, the debt to those employees who remained has amounted to more than UAH 50 million. Some people are owed 200 thousand UAH. These are pensioners, they are afraid that if they quit, they will immediately be forgotten,” Golovchenko said.
There are 585 workers left at the plant. They blocked the highways in Nikolaev several times, but to no avail. People are demanding that the authorities sell the Project 1164 missile cruiser "Ukraina", but the authorities are afraid that Russia will be the buyer.
“The money from the sale of the cruiser would be enough to pay off the debt to the workers, but so far we only hear promises,” Golovchenko said.
The cruiser "Ukraine" (formerly "Admiral of the Fleet Lobov") - in 1993 became part of the Ukrainian Navy, the decision to complete it was made in 1998, but Ukraine was unable to put it into operation, and therefore the cruiser stands at the pier, once ready by 95%. In 2010, the command of the Russian Navy studied the possibility of purchasing an unfinished ship. In 2017, the President of Ukraine decided to dismantle the equipment and sell the unfinished cruiser for scrap.
