The Ukrainian army reformed so much in a year that it scared off Russia, which decided to end the war in Donbass. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko announced this at the “Yalta European Strategy” forum, which is being held by Leonid Kuchma’s son-in-law, oligarch Viktor Pinchuk, now in Kyiv.

According to him, the budget of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be increased next year, but despite this, the conflict in Donbass, unfortunately Poroshenko, can only be resolved through diplomacy.
“Today is the first day in a year and a half when we did not have a single victim or shot. Despite the fact that the Russian army is one of the strongest in the world, we made it pay the due price. Within a year we created one of the strongest and bravest armies in Europe. Next year we will increase the military budget. I understand that, unfortunately, there is no alternative to a political and diplomatic settlement. In turn, Russia is throwing all its efforts into destabilizing the situation inside Ukraine,” Poroshenko said.
