Kyiv, December 14 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – On the border of the Kherson region and Crimea, the Ukrainian side managed to achieve the retreat of Russian security forces towards the peninsula, President Petro Poroshenko said during a meeting with security forces.

According to Poroshenko, the State Border Service of Ukraine carried out an operation “to restore Ukrainian control over the Arabat Spit,” the result of which was “the transfer of the border of the controlled territory by more than 8 kilometers.” This “made it possible to actually delimit the Arbat Spit, free up the gas distribution center and thereby restore the gas supply to Genichesk.”

Now Poroshenko is “awaiting results at Chongar.”

“Every kilometer of Ukrainian land is very important for us,” he emphasized.
