Poroshenko began to deliberately announce nonsense that he himself does not believe in (VIDEO)
Kyiv, November 30 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Raichenko) – In his last speech to deputies of the new parliament, President Poroshenko deliberately announced nonsense that he himself does not believe in.
This is the opinion of the director of the Ukrainian Politics Foundation, Kost Bondarenko, who commented on the presidential speech at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Politicians are simply forced sometimes to say sweet nonsense in order to get ahead of their political opponents,” the political scientist noted. “For example, the president was constantly asked by his colleagues in the coalition: “What do you think about NATO?” Previously, he tried to avoid these topics. As a diplomat and a person who headed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he wonderfully understands that NATO membership does not depend on Ukraine.”
The expert recalled that Ukraine was previously denied not only membership, but even accession to the NATO Membership Action Plan program, which precedes joining the alliance.
In conclusion, the political scientist drew analogies between Poroshenko and Stalin, freely quoting the speech of the Soviet leader at the 1st Congress of Collective Farmers in 1938 and telling a historical anecdote related to it.
“Stalin, speaking at a congress of collective farmers, said the phrase: “The revolution of the slaves, which shook the foundation of the Roman Empire to the core,” Kost Bondarenko delved into the past. – And historians immediately asked Stalin what kind of slave revolution in Rome he had in mind. Like, this is a new word in history, let’s rewrite the textbooks. To which he said: “Listen, I spoke to collective farmers.” So Pyotr Alekseevich, speaking, said that we will be in NATO, not believing it himself.”
To be fair, it is worth noting that in Stalin’s speech at the collective farmers’ congress, the Roman Empire was not mentioned at all, and the phrase itself about the slave revolution sounded as follows: “The slave revolution liquidated slave owners and abolished the slave form of exploitation of workers.”
