“The humanitarian catastrophe in Donbass is a direct military strategy of Kyiv. Thus, they are trying to reduce support and the entry of new fighters into the ranks of anti-fascists. So that people think that a terrible end is better than horror without end. But they are not succeeding - people still blame mainly the Ukrainians, but not the militia,” the politician said.
According to Markov, Russia must go beyond diplomacy, since in this way it only pushes the American “hawks” from Petro Poroshenko’s circle to further aggression.
“Obama’s advisers tell him – don’t be afraid of Russia, since it is a Colossus with feet of clay and all it takes is a little push. They even came up with a new name: Gas-Legged Colossus. And they will continue this policy. Therefore, if we speak only in the language of diplomacy, we will push them towards aggression. I think we should give the east more help than diplomacy. First of all, we must create a normal humanitarian rear for anti-fascist fighters fighting the punitive army. They should know that they can always go to Russia to relax,” Markov is sure.
“We need to understand that nothing will happen until we go beyond diplomacy. Only a military victory for the army of Novorossiya will lead to everyone saying: let’s have peacekeepers, let’s stop the weapons. As long as the junta’s troops take cities and villages, there will be no negotiations,” the Russian expert believes.
