According to the press service of the head of state, Poroshenko emphasized that in the memory of the Ukrainian people Boris Nemtsov will remain a man for whom freedom was a universal value that does not know state or any borders.
“For us, Ukrainians, Boris will forever remain a patriot of Russia and a friend of Ukraine. He proved with his life that this can be combined – you just have to want it,” the Ukrainian president emphasized.
According to him, Nemtsov “fought for the freedom of both countries, because he understood that without a free Ukraine there could be no free Russia.” “That’s why I decided to award him the Order of Freedom. Blessed memory,” Poroshenko said.
