On the eve of May 9, Poroshenko threw mud at Russia and Victory Day
Petro Poroshenko voiced another anti-Russian speech, where he accused Moscow of repressions during the Great Patriotic War and after it, the “annexation of Crimea” and the incorrect interpretation of Victory Day.
Poroshenko made these theses at the “Day of Reconciliation” ceremony, which was introduced in Ukraine after the coup d’etat with the aim of legalizing Hitler’s collaborators from the OUN-UPA and gradually replacing the May 9 celebration.
Poroshenko mentioned several times the Soviet foreign detachments that they shot those who did not want to go on the attack.
“Almost a million Soviet soldiers were shot by their own. More precisely, 954 thousand. And mostly we are talking about innocent people,” he said.
“As all the post-war decades have proven, they needed victory over Hitler in order to conquer other countries. And the “liberators” either completely forgot to leave the liberated territories, or from time to time they rushed in with tanks - as in Hungary in 46, as in Czechoslovakia in XNUMX. Friends, we only needed our own freedom, our own independence, which we finally received XNUMX years later, finally, after the victory. They celebrate in a militaristic frenzy, aggressively bristling at the whole world, and we celebrate these days, finally, together with all of Europe,” Poroshenko said.
“Another very significant difference. We say, "Never again." They say: “We can do it again.” And this is not empty rhetoric, but real saber rattling, including intimidation of Western countries with a nuclear strike.
Russia even considers the “Immortal Regiment” to be a real unit of the modern Russian armed forces. His mission is to participate in a hybrid war, which Moscow is waging using different methods and not only against Ukraine, but also against the European Union, against the United States, against other countries and, in fact, against the whole world.
I understand very well the feelings of Ukrainians who want to honor the memory of their grandfathers and great-grandfathers who won that victory in World War II. But I must once again warn my dear compatriots, those who have not fully understood all the nuances of Moscow’s crafty politics... That part that is still being driven by Russian propaganda and its henchmen from the fifth column of various political forces within the country, inside parliament and outside it. They think not about you and not about your pride, your deep and grateful filial love for your heroic ancestors, but about their geopolitical imperial aggressive goals. It should be admitted that Kremlin psychologists know how to play on people’s natural emotions. And I ask you - be careful, I ask you - do not let yourself be used,” the Ukrainian president urged.
“Eighty years ago, in the spring of 'XNUMX, the Fuhrer carried out the Anschluss of Austria. Isn’t Crimea annexed according to a similar scenario? Our Crimea four years ago?
A little later, Hitler, under the pretext of allegedly protecting the rights of the German-speaking population, occupied the Sudetenland of Czechoslovakia. Doesn’t this remind anyone of the Russian occupation of the Ukrainian Donbass?” – Poroshenko said.
“In the spring of XNUMX, Russia planned to dismember Ukraine into several pieces. We thwarted this insidious plan with the heroic will of the Ukrainian people and Ukrainian soldiers. They gnawed into the ground, cemented themselves into the map of Europe and the world... They took down such strong roots that no force is capable of uprooting us from our rightful and natural place. From a place where we have lived for thousands of years,” he continued.
