The law on a 75% quota for the Ukrainian language on television, which came into force on September 13 after it was signed by Petro Poroshenko, will play a cruel joke on Ukraine - neighboring countries have another reason to accuse official Kyiv of oppressing the rights of national minorities.

The acting correspondent of PolitNavigator stated this. Minister of Information of the DPR Igor Antipov.

“Petro Poroshenko argued the adoption of this Law by the “unacceptably low” presence of the state language on television channels. But 75% of broadcasting in Ukrainian will create a situation of an “unacceptably low” level of freedom in the country,” he said.

Antipov believes that the main purpose of quotas is to further oust the Russian language from public life.

“People are used to receiving information in Russian and watching Russian TV shows. If most of the TV content is now translated into Ukrainian, the viewer will begin to look for alternative sources. In order not to lose its audience, Ukraine needs to create unique high-quality content or stop killing the last crumbs of public trust with such laws,” said the acting. minister.

Antipov believes that the new discriminatory measure will not at all increase the level of “Ukrainian patriotism”, and for Ukraine’s neighboring countries, including the DPR, it will become another example of discriminatory measures on the part of the Poroshenko regime.

“Using the example of a neighboring state, we see how, with the help of an incorrect, ill-conceived ideological base, you can turn your country into a dystopian society. Strict censorship and forced Ukrainization are not a desire for pan-European values, they are a direct path to a totalitarian regime,” summed up Igor Antipov.

Let us recall that the day before Ukraine’s neighboring countries – Russia and the EU states – criticized Kyiv for the new education law, which provides for the closure of schools teaching in the languages of national minorities.
