Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko considers the main achievements of the last four years to be decommunization, recognition of the UPA and the Ukrainization of the media. He stated this today at a meeting with students of the Leadership Academy.

“Look at the way we have come in matters of decommunization. Four years ago we had 1,5 thousand Lenins standing on Ukrainian soil. Just four years ago, UPA soldiers were not recognized for their role in the liberation of Ukraine from fascism. Four years ago we did not celebrate May 8 as a day of remembrance. Four years ago, the Ukrainian language on Ukrainian television occupied 29%. And now we have passed a law according to which the quota for TV and radio is 75%. No pressure - friends, learn the language,” Poroshenko said.

He believes that great opportunities have opened up for residents of Ukrainian villages due to easier travel abroad and cheaper housing.

“Today you can rent an apartment in Kyiv for 8-10 thousand,” Poroshenko boasted.
