Petro Poroshenko said this during a meeting of the National Council on Anti-Corruption Policy.

“I am sure that the source of corruption is state-owned enterprises and concerns. “Both the privatization of state-owned enterprises and a transparent procedure for appointing management through competitive mechanisms for those that will remain in state ownership, except for special, defense purposes, where we certainly must maintain security positions, will also be effective anti-corruption mechanisms,” the Ukrainian president noted.

Let us remind you that today Ukraine is the leader in Europe in terms of the smallest share of the public sector in the economy. However, this does not prevent the country from leading global corruption rankings.
