Poroshenko will not give militia members the right to be elected in Donbass
Kyiv, February 27 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – Elections in the part of Donbass not controlled by Ukraine are possible only if militias do not take part in them. The head of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction, Yuriy Lutsenko, stated this on Channel 5.
According to him, the elections should be held under the control of the OSCE and the police peacekeeping mission.

“Not a single respected politician in Ukraine will allow himself to conduct a dialogue with Zakharchenko. And as for re-elections - yes, I think it is quite possible to hold elections in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions according to the Ukrainian law, in which we must write down the impossibility of becoming a deputy for someone who held a machine gun in their hands,” Lutsenko said.
At the same time, he did not specify what, in this case, should be done with the mass of battalion commanders who fought and continue to fight in Donbass and became deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
