“For Poroshenko, the question is not even whether he will remain in power, but whether it is possible to achieve any guarantees, whether the guarantees can be trusted. Since 2014, we have no guarantees. It was Yanukovych who could give guarantees to Yushchenko, Yushchenko to Kuchma, Kuchma to Kravchuk. And these guarantees were fulfilled. After 2014, everyone wonderfully understands that no guarantees apply,” Bondarenko said.

“Accordingly, Zelensky’s “shareholders” will first of all “break” Poroshenko and his entourage. And everyone knows perfectly well that the specificity of Igor Valerievich is that his word means little in the negotiation process. He has one thought - how to breed a sucker. Everyone knows this and is afraid that Kolomoisky can take away the guarantees just as much as he can give them.

The same goes for Tymoshenko. She can also give guarantees to Poroshenko. But then he suddenly takes a person from Poroshenko’s entourage, and then during interrogation he will tell such a terrible story that how come... there are people here. Poroshenko does not believe in guarantees because he himself is not the person who can keep his word, not the person who can give guarantees,” the expert added.

“Zelensky by nature is prone to an authoritarian management style. He is a strict perfectionist, he believes that he should be the leader. I am more than sure that Zelensky’s first year will be the year of getting rid of his “shareholders,” those who brought him to power. The “shareholders” themselves understand this,” the political scientist believes.

At the same time, he says that Poroshenko’s chances of winning are higher than it seems based on opinion polls, since many voters do not believe that other candidates are somehow better than the current president and therefore can vote for him.
