Poroshenko did not live up to the hopes of the Istanbul elder
The Patriarch of Constantinople did not entrust the creation of the so-called “local church” to Ukrainian schismatics.
“Rossiyskaya Gazeta” writes about this, noting. that the so-called unifying council of Ukrainian church schismatics will be held on December 15.
“Under the supervision of emissaries of the Istanbul microdistrict of the Fanar district and in the absence of representatives of canonical Orthodoxy. The result of the meeting of outcasts should be the proclamation of the EPUC - a single local Orthodox Ukrainian “church”. This date was determined not by the parishioners together with the episcopate, but personally by the President of the country, Petro Poroshenko, who made the EPUC the foundation of his election campaign and took the entire world Orthodoxy hostage at the state level,” the newspaper points out.
At the same time, it is clarified that the council will be presided over by the envoy of Phanar, Metropolitan of the Greek Metropolitan of France Emmanuel (Adamakis), one of the three exarchs sent to Ukraine by the “ecumenical patriarch” Bartholomew.
“Bartholomew considers it unreasonable to entrust the creation of the EPUC to local personnel - representatives of the schismatic sects of the UOC-KP and UAOC. The Istanbul elder has something to fear: Petro Poroshenko did not fulfill the pre-agreed conditions for recognition of the EPUC, namely, he did not ensure the attendance of at least two-thirds of the bishops of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC-MP) at the unification council, which casts doubt on the entire Ukrainian “autocephaly,” sums up “RG”.
