Poroshenko will not be convicted of treason under Zelensky
The criminal case against ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, registered after the release of audio recordings of his conversations with US Vice President Joseph Biden, has no prospects, because the current Kiev government is covering for Poroshenko and continuing his policies.
Lawyer Elena Lukash stated this on the NEWSONE TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As for the criminal case, let’s not be optimistic here - just a message about a possible offense has been registered in a special register, possibly containing such a criminal offense as high treason. The investigative authorities have no questions for Poroshenko today.
Is this the first case related to treason? Of course not. Let me remind you that Andrei Portnov has long ago registered a similar statement of committing high treason in Poroshenko’s attempt to extend power and send Ukrainian sailors to the Kerch Strait to certain death in order to introduce a state of emergency and retain his post. The result was the captivity of the sailors, incredible grief for their families, and Poroshenko’s failure in the elections.
But let’s return to the topic - there is a case, the results of the research institute’s examination that there is a gross violation of the law in Poroshenko’s actions, the investigation stands rooted to the spot. Because “a brother will not offend a brother.” Zelensky’s team has been cooperating with Poroshenko’s team for a long time, informationally and personnel-wise, voting together. That's why it's worth it.
Now it's a new thing. It would seem completely obvious - Poroshenko admits directly on the tapes: I broke the law by appointing Abromavicius, because he could not have access, in the opinion of the SBU and according to the law, to state secrets. Please tell me – do you seriously believe in any right-wing perspective? Allegedly, Poroshenko directly admits in English that he committed an offense, Biden allegedly admits.
When Abromavicius was appointed, why did Zelensky not appoint Abromavicius, a citizen of Lithuania, in exactly the same way? You understand that everything will start, questions arise that are absolutely mirror symmetrical to Zelensky: what about Abromavicius’s people, are they not in power now?
Poroshenko says that “the IMF asked to raise gas prices by 75 percent, I went further - we raised them by one hundred percent.” And Zelensky and his team, did they cancel at least one resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, influence at least one decision of the National Regulatory Commission on Gas Prices? The same thing, absolutely the same schematosis. For example, Poroshenko is asking for money from the IMF and Zelensky is not dependent on the IMF, does he not continue to act in the same vein?
Poroshenko praises Yaresko and even agrees to her appointment as prime minister, but Yaresko went somewhere further to carry out reforms, but her bills became laws under Zelensky? Tell me, what right-wing perspective can be expected from the authorities and Zelensky, which mirrors every move that Poroshenko made,” Lukash said.
