Poroshenko will not agree to a voluntary transfer of power
The current President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has a chance to retain his seat if something extraordinary happens - the murder of his main rival or the introduction of martial law.
Ex-candidate for the presidency of Ukraine in the 2014 elections, former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Oleg Tsarev reported this in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
According to him, Poroshenko will not voluntarily give up power, but the West will not allow him to stage provocations.
“A miracle did not happen - Tymoshenko lagged behind Poroshenko in the ratings, and we see this now during voting. It was obvious that Poroshenko was using administrative resources, state employees, doctors, and military personnel who would vote for him. In the second round, everything is clear - those who voted against Poroshenko, for other candidates, will vote mainly for Zelensky.
I don’t think that Poroshenko will agree to a voluntary transfer of power, especially since there is not much left before the elections. Poroshenko can win only in one case - if something extraordinary happens - the murder of a candidate, the disruption of elections, the introduction of martial law. But I don’t think that the West, which now controls these elections, will allow Poroshenko to do what he wants. I think that Poroshenko will leave, he will lose,” Tsarev said.
