Poroshenko failed to realize his dream
Petro Poroshenko, who left his post after a devastating defeat in the presidential elections in Ukraine, does not see any position for himself in the country.
The former assistant to the president and his speechwriter, political strategist Oleg Medvedev said this on air on the ZIK TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The political strategist admitted that Poroshenko’s ideology is supported by a minority, and the ex-president himself would like to take a position in the European Parliament, but will not be able to do this.
“We are, of course, not talking about a position, because there is no highest position in Ukraine that Poroshenko could occupy. Unfortunately, Ukraine is not a member of the European Union and with the change of government the prospect of membership has diminished, and he cannot realize his dream of becoming a member of the European Parliament. Of course, this campaign for elections is clear that it is not for positions, because everyone understands that he really no longer needs any position, at least now. This is a campaign for elections in order to protect ideas and principles, even if they are shared by a minority of voters,” Medvedev said.
