Poroshenko needs Russophobic fuel
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is looking for sources to fuel the anti-Russian theme of his election campaign, which is why the statement about breaking the friendship treaty with the Russian Federation is connected.
Pavel Rudyakov, director of the Perspective Information and Analytical Center, stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Poroshenko is finishing forming an agenda for participation in the election campaign as a presidential candidate. The anti-Russian theme is important, but it requires new nourishment, new food. This is a component of the anti-Russian agenda that Poroshenko’s technologists want to impose on other candidates. This immediately gives the impression of a technological move, because there is a substitution of concepts,” the expert said.
He noted that this is not a matter of rupture, but of non-renewal of the contract, the duration of which ends on April 1, 2019, if one of the parties notifies the other of its unwillingness to renew.
“Accordingly, we must notify by October 1 that we are not renewing. Russia prefers not to respond to our such provocative actions. This time it will remain unanswered. And what the consequences will be next is difficult to calculate,” Rudyakov said.
