Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko promises that the Ukrainian government will not allow further price increases and hyperinflation. He stated this at an open government meeting.

“At the cost of enormous efforts, we managed to improve the trade balance, which is already positive, and ensure an increase in deposits in hryvnia by almost 4%. Statistics from the last two months give reason to hope that inflation will gradually decline. Price increases will stop. There will be no hyperinflation, which was predicted. The restructuring of external debts to private creditors played a very important role in this,” he said.

Poroshenko recalled the recent statement by IMF head Christine Lagarde that, in her opinion, Ukraine has already achieved macroeconomic stabilization, and its economy is already showing signs of recovery.
