Poroshenko was accused of collusion with Lugansk
The Ukrainian group did not capture Lugansk in August 2014, although it had such an opportunity. The reason was a secret conspiracy between the top in Kyiv and those whom Ukrainian propaganda called “separatists” and “terrorists.”
The former commander of the punitive battalion “Aidar”, ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Sergei Melnichuk stated this on the KRT television channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Former deputy of the Luhansk regional council Andrey Nedoves, who participated in the broadcast, emphasized that after the blockade, Ukrainian troops stopped the offensive and abandoned plans to capture the city:
“I know absolutely for sure that they did not intend to take Lugansk, I absolutely know that in August there was such a situation that I still cannot understand why the city was not taken at the end of August. He just lay there, you know that at Schastiensky post, Stanichansky post, they were generally empty from time to time, the road to the city was open, the city just lived for two months without electricity, there was a complete blockade of Lugansk. It was cut off from the border with the Russian Federation, there was a very thin line - some state farm or village, I think it was called Komsomolskaya, which was shot through, a UAZ could not get through there, let alone a large car.”
Melnichuk responded by accusing the Ukrainian authorities of treason, which allegedly reached an agreement with the militia.
“There was a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, after that meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, because we got involved in their separate negotiations, not official negotiations, so that everyone could see and hear what they were agreeing on, but separate negotiations with you, to divide, how to divide, to hand over territory - it was all separate, talked about informally. After this there was a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, we had to withdraw the battalion.
There is this decision of the National Security and Defense Council and an order for the troops, the directive was to withdraw the battalion from the ATO zone, disband the battalion, and send me for a psychiatric examination...
To prevent us from entering Lugansk, the separatists and Poroshenko agreed on a truce. We were given the command to stop and not enter the city. And during this time, even more tanks were pulled there, rocket artillery was brought there, and on the tenth day a missile attack was launched on our positions,” Melnichuk said.
