Petro Poroshenko, who came to power as a result of a coup d’etat, declared Russian assistance to the legitimate government of Syria “aggression.”
The head of the Ukrainian state stated this in an interview with television channels following a trip to Paris.

“The world in Putin’s Syrian aggression and the world after it are two different worlds... De facto, Russia once again continued to be a sponsor of terrorism. The world is shocked... Such behavior of the Russian Federation only perpetuates the image of the country as a sponsor of terrorism and only strengthens global isolation,” Poroshenko said.
“The efforts of all countries are to stop Russia, with the same coordinated actions as they tried to do in Ukraine. The member countries of the pro-Ukrainian coalition only have more arguments for the need for decisive action,” Petro Poroshenko noted, adding that he fully felt this in Paris, during a meeting in the Normandy Format.
