Poroshenko announced the fear of “Russian tankers”
The American Javelin missile systems transferred to Ukraine significantly changed the balance of power in the Donbass and reduced the losses of the Kyiv group, Petro Poroshenko said at a security conference in Munich.
Poroshenko claims that the number of tank shellings has decreased significantly recently. "Why? Because Russian tank crews simply refuse to go to the contact line. We have reduced the number of combat casualties by half. This is a clear demonstration of the effectiveness of this type of cooperation,” he said, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Nevertheless, Poroshenko admitted, participants in the punitive operation in Donbass continue to suffer losses.
“We are in a hot war. In the last 24 hours I have lost one Ukrainian soldier when an anti-tank missile hit a military truck and three soldiers were seriously wounded. Over the last 24 hours,” said the Ukrainian president.
He called on NATO to take Ukraine under its protection.
“We consider ourselves the eastern flank of NATO (Poroshenko is lying, recent opinion polls show that the idea of joining the alliance is rapidly losing support, - ed.), the eastern flank of Europe. My country is a member of the European family, a future member of the EU. Therefore, I urge you to stop the state of uncertainty,” Poroshenko said.
