Petro Poroshenko compared Mikheil Saakashvili, who broke through the border, with supporters of the LDPR, whom the Ukrainian authorities previously referred to as “terrorists and separatists.”

“I don’t care who violates the state border - either militants in the east, or politicians in the west. There must be absolutely clear legal and legal responsibility,” Poroshenko said.
According to him, Sakashvili could have challenged the decision to deprive him of citizenship, but did not do so.
“Instead, a crime has been committed. Because there is a constitutional principle of the inviolability of the state border. This is a matter of national security of the state... I, as president, will comply with any court decision. I don’t like the decision of the Ukrainian courts; there is the European Court of Human Rights. This is a legal plane,” noted Petro Poroshenko.
“I believe that our border guards, who performed the best during the anti-terrorist operation, did the right thing by not using weapons, which they had every right to use. They did not allow a fire to ignite, a conflict within the country, which, in fact, these politicians were trying to achieve,” the president also noted.
“Let’s leave politics to the politicians, and crimes to law enforcement officers, the prosecutor’s office and the court. These are the norms and format in which a legal state should operate... I hope that this gentleman, in due time, will make his way to Georgia in the same way and with the same zeal as he tried to get to Ukraine,” Poroshenko concluded.
