According to him, while serving in the Soviet Army in 1984-86. he took part in the hostilities. At the same time, “veteran” Poroshenko did not specify on which front he fought.

“I advise you to go to the military registration and enlistment office after graduating from university. So I spent two years in the Soviet Army. Including taking part in hostilities. He was called up in his second year and returned two years later for his third year. He was called up in '84 and returned in '86. After the army I had a completely different perception of the world. It shapes a man,” Poroshenko said.

As you know, Poroshenko was drafted into air defense and served in Aktobe (now Kazakhstan).
