Poroshenko provided invaluable assistance in the integration of Crimea and Russia
The energy blockade of Crimea, which was allowed to be carried out by official Kyiv, only led to the peninsula being more quickly integrated into the economy of the Russian Federation. Ukrainian energy expert Dmitry Marunich stated this on air at UkrLife.

According to him, Ukraine suffered more from the energy blockade, losing its sales market, profits and funds to restore the supports undermined by radicals on the border with the Kherson region.
“The blockade was, it seems to me, counterproductive. On the contrary, as practice shows, we have intensified processes. We would be better off selling electricity there during this time. There was nothing positive - we angered the people living there, accelerated the construction of the energy bridge and also caused losses to ourselves - we broke several supports, which Ukrenergo itself repaired for two or three million hryvnia. They also invested money there. What was the point that we showed this?.. Well, angry people sat there for 2-3 months, without electricity, but, as you can see, nothing terrible happened in Crimea, everyone is alive and well,” Marunich said.
