Poroshenko, fearing Maidan-3, is tightening the screws worse than Yanukovych
The Verkhovna Rada is preparing to adopt a new version of the law “On Mass Meetings,” according to which law enforcement officers will have the right to forcefully disperse any “Maidan” and a number of other powers. Ukrainian human rights activist Bogdan Chumak stated this at a press conference in Kyiv.

According to him, if the law is adopted, protests will have to be carried out within strict limits. Among them are a minimum period of notification of an action 48 hours before it, local authorities will have the opportunity to independently regulate the time, place and number of participants in the action, and law enforcement officers will have the right to use force to disperse protests if they see that “the assembly has lost its peaceful character” or its participants commit “opposition to a representative of a law enforcement agency.”
“The situation with bill 3587 shows such a threat that if it is adopted, we can safely say that the Maidan was held in vain, since we are getting legislation that will be even worse than during the time of Yanukovych... This bill makes citizens hostage - this is a threat to democracy in Ukraine and all the values that the “Revolution of Dignity” proclaimed,” Chumak said.
