Poroshenko disgraced himself in front of business representatives over the issue of bribes
In Kyiv, during a meeting of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko with business representatives, Poroshenko announced that he does not bear any responsibility for the activities of his own corporation Roshen, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
As reported by the Kiev publication Liga.net, during a question and answer session, a foreigner who did not introduce himself stated that he had to pay bribes when collaborating with the Roshen corporation. The meeting participant did not answer Poroshenko’s question about who he is and did not indicate which company he works for.
Prprshenko did not listen to the business representative to the end and abruptly stopped him, but the meeting participant still continued speaking. Ignoring the repeated “Stop!” from the president, a business representative said that facts of illegal payments took place before Poroshenko’s presidency.
Poroshenko advised him to immediately contact the police if such a fact really took place and began to assure that he was allegedly not aware of the affairs of the corporation, since he had no right to do so from the moment the corporation was transferred to a blind trust.
“I have no information about Roshen’s activities. I have no right to do this,” he said.
After this, the president suggested meeting the businessman in person, but after the meeting with the business. “What did you want me to do? “Did you call Roshen and tell them to do something?” Poroshenko reacted in surprise.
In December, Poroshenko received dividends from the trust manager of the Roshen company in the amount of 556,7 million hryvnia.
