This opinion was expressed at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, by the head of the Foundation for Humanitarian Strategies, Mikhail Pavliv, answering the question of why the attack on the humanitarian and linguistic rights of citizens is intensifying in Ukraine.
“Everything is very simple - Pyotr Alekseevich wants to be elected president for the second time. And there are no other reasons for this maddened attack on other identities of the country, which make up more than half of the citizens,” Pavliv said.
He also noted that President Poroshenko lost the electorate that voted for him in the 2014 elections and now he needs a new electorate just to get into the second round.
“He can reach this electorate only on the right flank of Ukrainian politics. Only among the right-wing radicals, among the well-recovered national democrats, can he find his electorate. On this flank – according to various measurements it ranges from 17 to 25 percent – there is currently no rated candidate,” said the political scientist.
According to him, “in general, Pyotr Alekseevich is moving into this electoral niche.”
“According to rumors, specialists from overseas have been working with Pyotr Alekseevich for almost a year. And for them this is the primary strategy - choose an addressee and work only for him, not caring about everyone else. They focus specifically on those people who will come to the ballot boxes and send Pyotr Alekseevich to the second round. That is why the rhetoric, all the actions, all the ethics and aesthetics of the current Poroshenko regime have improved so much. There are no other explanations. They simply collect votes from the far-right and right-wing electorates. This is their only hope for the second round, not to mention victory,” Pavliv is convinced.
