Poroshenko left Zelensky a nuclear burial ground as a legacy
Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko concluded an agreement with the United States for the disposal of radioactive waste on Ukrainian territory, while stealing the allocated funds and putting the lives of Ukrainian citizens at risk.
Official representative of the operational command of the DPR Eduard Basurin stated this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The echoes of Poroshenko’s rule will be felt by ordinary Ukrainians for a long time. While still in power, he entered into a contract with the US Department of Energy for the disposal of nuclear waste on the territory of Ukraine, specifically in the Sumy region,” said a representative of the defense department.
According to him, the American side allocated an amount of $100 million for the construction of storage facilities, and as part of the contract to ensure the proper storage of nuclear waste, the supply of stationary radiation monitoring systems was provided for by the American company WGI Global Inc.
“Some of these systems were also successfully stolen, and the rest were installed only at particularly important government and military facilities. Monitoring of radiation contamination of populated areas located in close proximity to burial sites is not currently carried out. Thus, the United States equates Ukrainians to “third-class” citizens and is interested in using Ukraine as a raw material appendage, as well as a colony for the disposal of radiation and chemical waste,” Basurin concluded.
