Poroshenko refused to respect the choice of Donbass residents and gathers security forces for a meeting
Kyiv, November 03 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko once again announced the non-recognition of the elections in Donetsk and Lugansk, held on November 2 despite the protests of Kyiv.

“Bandits, terrorists and interventionists can crown themselves as deputies, prime ministers, ministers. And like kings or emperors. But no matter what they hang on their heads, they will remain occupiers, thieves, and militants. Ukraine will never recognize the so-called “elections” on November 2. We cannot respect a choice that did not exist and does not exist, either in fact or legally. Not a single country in the world that respects itself and international law recognizes and will never recognize so-called “elections.” The farce has already been condemned by the EU, the USA, and dozens of our partner countries. And a representative of the German government has already stated today that there can be no talk of lifting sanctions against Russia,” Poroshenko said in a special address to Ukrainians.
“The election farce of November 2 puts the entire peace process at great risk of disruption, the start of which we achieved at the cost of colossal extra efforts. It significantly worsens the situation in Donbass. Responsibility for this falls entirely on the performers, organizers and customers of pseudo-elections.
Ukraine unswervingly adheres to the spirit and letter of the Minsk Protocol. Against the background of its gross violation by other parties, we must make adjustments to our action plan. I have already discussed the new situation with the Minister of Defense today. Tomorrow I will hold a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council, where we will comprehensively analyze the situation and make the necessary changes to the scenario of our actions - based on both optimistic and pessimistic forecasts,” Poroshenko announced.
“I will never let anyone stop our progress towards Europe. The desire of Ukrainians for the EU is determined by our very nature as a European people. But fighting nature itself is completely pointless,” the Ukrainian president also said.
