“And before, punitive troops and especially neo-Nazi detachments, which received the status of volunteer battalions, massively used torture and extrajudicial reprisals against political opponents in the Donbass. And now these tortures and reprisals will be carried out as legal,” he writes.
According to Markov, in Ukraine today there is no legitimate democratic government, but there is a military dictatorship based on brute force, demagoguery and total propaganda.
“This is what we have been saying for 2 years. In Kyiv, it is not a democratic legitimate government, but a military dictatorship, that is, an authoritarian government, based on brute military force, pro-European demagoguery and total propaganda,” states the political scientist.
In this regard, Sergei Markov insists that the “Kiev junta” must be unconditionally condemned by the world community.
“Any public figure who does not call for the immediate removal of the Kyiv junta from power can be considered neither a liberal nor a democrat. First, condemn the Kyiv junta, and only after that can your words about human rights be listened to seriously. Applies to everyone. Everything we say will be recognized sooner or later as a fact,” he hopes.
