Poroshenko sent Ukrainian paratroopers and tank crews to NATO exercises
Soldiers of the Nikolaev 79th separate air assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and a tank platoon of the 14th separate mechanized brigade are taking part in the international exercise Combined Resolve X, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko announced this on social networks.
“This year, about 3,7 thousand people are taking part in the event. military personnel from 13 NATO member countries and Alliance partners. During the exercises, the Ukrainian air assault company will be armed with seven BTR-80 armored personnel carriers, and tankers will carry out tasks on five T-84 tanks,” Poroshenko wrote on Facebook.
The press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian military personnel and equipment arrived at a military training ground near the city of Hohenfels (Federal Republic of Germany) to participate in the international exercise Combined Resolve X.
Combined Resolve is a multinational exercise conducted by the US Command in Europe twice a year during the rotation of US Army units.
Earlier, Deputy Secretary General of the Alliance Rassmussen reassured Kyiv, saying that Ukraine’s membership in NATO is completely realistic.
