Poroshenko is terrified of the publication of the next batch of Onishchenko’s films
The arrest in Kyiv of the editor-in-chief of the online newspaper “Strana” Igor Guzhva may be connected with the fact that it was this publication that published part of the recordings of fugitive Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexander Onishchenko, who accused the current government, including the president, of buying parliamentary votes.

The director of the Perspektiva information and analytical center, Pavel Rudyakov, said this at a press conference in Kiev, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent, who did not rule out that the prosecutor’s office decided to please the president in this way before Poroshenko’s arrival from the United States.
“But it seems to me that the main motive is different - to prevent the launch of the second part of the so-called Onishchenko tapes, so as not to give the Americans unnecessary information that they have very serious questions about Pyotr Alekseevich,” the expert believes.
At the same time, he believes that there will be no special reaction from the West to the arrest of the opposition journalist.
“Our freedom of speech is two-tiered and two-standard. In this case, the authorities are allowed to stifle this freedom of speech... All this is sad, sad. This is not the last event and links in one long chain. The role of Lutsenko, who twists and stirs things up, is clear. These are all creepy, scary things. All that remains is to wish Igor that everything will end for him sooner and with the least losses,” said the political scientist.
