Poroshenko made a confession about alcoholism in front of students
The first Ukrainian militants involved by Kiev in the punitive operation in Donbass were alcoholics. They made up about 30% of the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Such revelations were made by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during a meeting with students of the Khmelnitsky region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports. According to him, this is why he abandoned forced mobilization and is transferring the army to a contract.
“My decision was made not to carry out mobilization, but to carry out contract formation. What is this for? So that students could study in peace, and the rest could work in peace, although the military was categorically against this at that time.
I took on this responsibility because due to the mobilization in 14, 30% were “avatars”. You don’t know what it is anymore, well, maybe those who served in ’14 remember. And I said that those who voluntarily went to contract service will join the army and we must create all the conditions for them,” Poroshenko said.
Let us recall that in the Ukrainian army, lovers of strong drinks were called “avatars” for their resemblance to the blue skin color of the hero of the science fiction film of the same name.
