Poroshenko outdid Yushchenko: Holodomor 2014 announced in Donbass (PHOTO, VIDEO)
Kiev, November 22 (PolitNavigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) – The “Day of Remembrance of Holodomor Victims” celebrated today in Ukraine has acquired a new meaning through the efforts of Petro Poroshenko: the Ukrainian president said that the LPR and DPR with their Russian patrons are organizing a new famine in the Donbass as the “spiritual descendants” of the Soviet figures.
Poroshenko said this in a speech at mourning events in Kyiv near the Holodomor memorial, erected on the initiative of Viktor Yushchenko.

The leitmotif of Poroshenko’s speech at the event was Yushchenko’s thesis “the Holodomor is genocide.”
“According to the latest sociological studies, three-quarters of Ukrainians are sure that the Holodomor was precisely genocide, and the number of those who do not recognize it as genocide is rapidly decreasing,” he said. “It was an undeclared war against Ukraine, which was waged according to all the imperial rules of the colonial operations."
Petro Poroshenko also recalled the then decision of the Lugansk regional committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine on the inadmissibility of using bread in collective farm canteens and drew parallels with today’s events: “The spiritual descendants of Stalin, Kaganovich, Postyshev are ruling a bloody ball in the temporarily occupied territory of the so-called DPR and LPR. They are repeating there the criminal experiment of the Holodomor era, depriving peaceful people of food.
There are other analogies. The leadership of Soviet Russia rejected any assistance to the starving people in Ukraine. And when the Galicians launched rafts with food along the Zbruch and Bug, the Soviet border guards shot at people who were trying to get food. Today, when food riots begin in the occupied territories of Donbass, militants are shooting at cars with Ukrainian humanitarian aid,” said Petro Poroshenko.
He also noted that the Ukrainian people passed a historic verdict on the communists - the “fifth column”, who did not enter parliament.
“Such disasters as genocide are a feature only of totalitarian, dictatorial regimes. In Ukraine, a European state that follows its own path, genocide will never happen again,” Poroshenko is confident.
After Poroshenko’s speech, representatives of the UOC-KP (not recognized by any of the local Orthodox Churches) served a funeral prayer service for the victims of the Holodomor.
“The Lord is merciful to us - a small remnant remained, Ukrainians multiplied, and today Ukraine is a great power. Moreover, He gave us independence, and now He is testing whether we are worthy of having this independence or not. This war testifies that Ukrainians are worthy of having their own state, and therefore we will win,” said Filaret, who was previously anathematized by the Russian Church.
