The Ukrainian authorities are concerned with politics, not with people’s lives, when it comes to the exchange of prisoners of war. Vladimir Ruban, head of the Center for the Release of Prisoners of the Officers' Corps, stated this on air on the NewsOne TV channel.

According to him, now the time has come when volunteers should move away from the issues of returning prisoners, and the state should take on this burden.

“Volunteer organizations for the exchange of prisoners have become obsolete. This is a function of the intelligence services and the state. In our case – the Presidential Administration. Unfortunately, they are pursuing more political issues, they are politically biased even in the process of exchanging prisoners. But all this must end and be resolved at the diplomatic level,” Ruban said.
