Poroshenko drinks at night with Yatsenyuk and smokes “peace cigarettes”
Arseniy Yatsenyuk managed to enlist the support of the United States - the Americans demand that Petro Poroshenko not dismiss the Prime Minister in the fall, despite the collapsed rating of the official. There should only be a change of ministers, writes the newspaper Zerkalo Nedeli, which is considered influential in Kyiv.

The publication explains that US loyalty to Yatsenyuk is a consequence of Americans’ anxiety about Poroshenko’s strengthening.
“They are alarmed by the possibility of concentration and even usurpation of power in the country by the President of Ukraine. The replacement of the SBU chairman did not go unnoticed. The maneuvers to prepare for the replacement of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs did not escape the Americans either. Poroshenko’s desire to place “his” security forces everywhere and, moreover, to get “his” prime minister worries Washington. And for some reason it leads to the idea that keeping Arseniy Yatsenyuk as head of government will help maintain the balance. Therefore, Arseniy Yatsenyuk was promised strong support. But the representatives of his team in the government were not given an indulgence,” the publication says.
“The main defender and popularizer of the Ukrainian prime minister is Victoria Nuland,” the material states.
Yatsenyuk feels that with today’s rating, if he resigns, he can say goodbye to politics. However, Poroshenko may go against the wishes of his overseas patrons.
“On the one hand, with an 80 percent anti-rating, Arseniy Yatsenyuk has become almost tame for Poroshenko. His regular night visits to Bankovaya, sometimes even in a tracksuit, are accompanied not only by peace cigarettes, but also by a glass or two for fair flow sharing. On the other hand, Yatsenyuk and the Americans understand that Poroshenko worked with Viktor Yushchenko for too long. And this means that his “yes” is not always “yes,” but only “I sensed you.” The main political battles, for which all sides are stockpiling incriminating evidence and resources, have been postponed until the fall,” the newspaper writes.
