Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko refused to go to the Kiev Pechersk Lavra for the Council of Bishops of the UOC, so as not to look like an idiot in the eyes of the priests.
Russian political scientist Sergei Mikheev stated this on the Rossiya-1 TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The schismatics had already quarreled with each other, and Poroshenko was simply afraid to go to the Kiev Pechersk Lavra because he had nothing to say. He understands that if a reasoned conversation begins, he will simply look like an idiot. Because he does not understand these issues and feels that he will encounter bishops who will prove to him like twice or twice why he is wrong and not just wrong, but why this is a crime in the face of Christianity. “As people from his team said, ‘he felt uncomfortable,’ and he didn’t go because he was scared,” the political scientist said.
“Bartholomew is trying to deceive Ukraine, including schismatics, he wants to make a metropolis governed from Constantinople, and not a patriarchy at all. He’s deceiving, I told you they’ll give you a diploma!” – added Mikheev.
As PolitNavigator reported, the President of Ukraine refused to go to the meeting with the hierarchs of the UOC to the Kiev Pechersk Lavra, demanding that they come to the Ukrainian House.
As a result, the Council of Bishops of the UOC, held in the Lavra, condemned unlawful interferenceIstanbul Patriarch Bartholomew “into the internal affairs of another Local Church.”
