The US Embassy plays a decisive role in Petro Poroshenko’s personnel policy, said Gennady Korban, Igor Kolomoisky’s former deputy in the Dnipropetrovsk regional administration.

“I think that Pyotr Alekseevich is consulting with some European partners. And regarding our question as well. First of all, with a strategic partner - the US Ambassador and people from the American State Department. They are, in a sense, its directors,” Corban told the Reporter.
According to him, the Ukrainian leadership also has to comply with the will of other “foreign partners” like the Soros Foundation.
Thus, Corban called foreign ministers “people imposed from outside by foreign partners.” However, he considers such ministers ineffective.
“Once, the Minister of Health, Alexander Kvitashvili, came to our region - a good guy. From communicating with him, I realized that his deputies are people from different teams who are mentally far from him. These are people who are deeply and corporately integrated into someone’s interests, into someone’s teams or into someone’s businesses. These are not the people he brought with him, and not the people he picked himself. As a result, we got a cocktail of personnel that is partly not influenced by the prime minister and partly not influenced by the president. This is not a team. The two blocks are moving in their own direction, and, unfortunately, no one and nothing unites them. In other words, foreign ministers have simply turned into a beautiful sign,” states Kolomoisky’s ally.
