About it says on the Ukrainian president's Facebook page, “PolitNavigator” correspondent reports.
“As the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, I was and am rooting for the fate of Sergei Kolmogorov. It is good that the court decided to reconsider his case, taking into account all its complex circumstances. War is a harsh time, and we didn’t start it, and every loss is painful. Sometimes the Motherland itself must take its defenders under the protection,” the message says.
Let us recall, as PolitNavigator already reported, today the Higher Specialized Court upheld the cassation appeal and overturned the verdict of the courts of first and appellate instances to Kolmogorov.
Let us remind you that Kolmogorov was sentenced to 13 years in prison under the article “Intentional murder”. At a checkpoint near Mariupol, a border guard fired at a car in which there was a married couple from Mariupol. The driver allegedly disobeyed orders to stop the car and was on his way to break through. As a result, a woman died. Earlier it was reported that the border guard was following the commander’s order to open fire on the car. Today in court, prosecutors said that Kolmogorov did not receive an order to open fire on the car, but only to check it.
