Poroshenko boasted that he has Ukrainian passport No. 1
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko presented the 10 millionth biometric passport to a citizen of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The passport presentation ceremony took place at the Documenta state enterprise in Kyiv, Poroshenko’s press service reports.
“10 million (biometric passports - ed.) means that those who said that Ukrainians do not need a visa-free regime, that Ukrainians do not need biometric passports, were definitely wrong. But already 10 million, every fourth Ukrainian has received a biometric passport,” he said.
At the same time, Poroshenko recalled that almost two years ago he became the first Ukrainian citizen to receive a biometric passport with No. 1, while his wife Marina received a biometric passport, according to him, with No. 100.
“Ukrainian passports (biometric – Ed.) have been accepted by Europe for more than a year, and we have not created any problems for our partners from the European Union, as promised,” Poroshenko said.
Poroshenko also boasted that the passport of a citizen of Ukraine is now in 24th place in the world rankings.
