Poroshenko boasted of Ukrainian shells for a Soviet cannon
In the Chernihiv region, the Ukrainian military conducted artillery exercises in which a NATO-made ballistic radar was used.
About it on its official Facebook page Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“152-mm large-caliber shells for the Giatsint artillery system, which were developed and produced by the State Concern Ukroboronprom, have successfully passed one of the stages of testing,” the president writes.
The leader of the Ukrainian state added that equipment from NATO countries was used to evaluate the characteristics of the projectiles.
“During the shooting, high-explosive fragmentation shells were used. And to assess the ballistic characteristics of the projectiles, an advanced ballistic radar produced by one of the NATO member countries was used,” Poroshenko said.
As it became known from the message, the shells will be used to fire from one of the longest-range artillery systems - "Hyacinth", which was developed and produced in the USSR and which has greater accuracy and a firing range of up to 30 kilometers.
“We continue to strengthen the defense capability of the Ukrainian army,” the president concluded.
