Poroshenko buys the loyalty of security forces by handing out general positions
Petro Poroshenko began distributing general positions, hoping to enlist the support of the top of the army and other law enforcement agencies with an eye to the upcoming presidential elections.
The official representative of the People's Militia of the LPR, Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko, stated this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The day before, Poroshenko, by his decree, made changes to the list of positions of military personnel and law enforcement officers to be replaced by senior officers, which leads to an increase in the number of generals.
“This decree has nothing to do with strengthening and increasing the combat capability of the Ukrainian army. As part of the election campaign, Ukrainian President Poroshenko is handing out titles left and right, just to win over military leaders, thereby increasing administrative resources and guaranteeing himself the votes of Ukrainian military personnel,” noted Andriy Marochko.
