President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko arrived at the National Guard camp, where he promised to sign a decree on a ceasefire in the east in the near future, according to the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
According to Poroshenko, this is being done so that “terrorists can lay down their arms, and those who do not will be destroyed.” Military operations will only be of a response nature, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
“The Ukrainian army ceases fire! But this does not mean that we will not fight back in the event of aggression against our military, we will do everything to protect the territory of our state,” Poroshenko’s press service quotes him as saying.
He also said that restoration of houses damaged during the fighting will begin in the near future. All work will be carried out at the expense of the state.
Let us remind you that Poroshenko arrived at the camp of the anti-terrorism center of the National Guard, where the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arseniy Avakov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Andriy Parubiy and Commander of the National Guard Stepan Poltorak are located.
As Navigator reported, the speaker of the Supreme Council of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, questioned Kiev’s control of “pro-Ukrainian” military formations in the Donbass. He stressed that negotiations with the Kyiv authorities can only take place through the mediation of Russia and international organizations.
Let us recall that earlier the DPR government stated that Interior Minister Arsen Avakov proposed and declared a ceasefire, but the fighting never stopped.
